Program  

The teaching programs of the "Probezeit" (probationary period) can vary greatly depending on the school, profile and teacher. However, on the one hand, we will teach the students basic skills that will help them progress regardless of the specific lesson content, and on the other hand, we will teach topics that experience has shown to occur frequently during the "Probezeit".

Program German

Grammar:

  • 5 word types - repetition

  • Verb: Conjugation (root forms & conjugation types) - repetition & consolidation

  • Verb: Modes (especially konjunctive I & II; indirect speech) - new: own applications

  • Verb: Active-passive - new: own applications

  • Sentence structure: Sentence elements (subject, objects, prepositional groups)

  • Sentence structure: basic types 

  • Sentence structure: subordinate clauses

Writing:

  • Argumentation / linear discussion

  • Dialectical discussion

  • (Picture) description

  • Poetic description

  • Inner monologue

Dealing with literary texts:

  • Text analysis and interpretation of narrative texts based on short narratives and short stories

  • Characterization of figures

  • Narrative perspectives

  • Answering questions of interpretation

  • Text analysis of dramatic texts based on the beginning of F. Dürrenmatt's “Der Besuch der alten Dame”

  • Basic concepts for the analysis of dramatic texts

  • Character analysis (characterization, relationships, behaviour, etc.)

Algebra:

  • Calculating with algebraic expressions

  • Polymomials, arithmetic with polynomials

  • Factorization of polynomials

  • Introduction to fraction terms

  • Linear and quadratic equations and inequalities; equations with parameters 

  • Linear systems of equations

  • Powers with whole, rational and real exponents; power laws

Geometry

  • Pythagorean theorem group

  • Similarity geometry: ray theorems, similarity of figures

  • Conclusions from similarity relationships

  • Calculations on a circle

  • Congruence and similarity mappings
